EXPERIENCE AND PASSION

About

WE LOVE THIS PLACE
Christmas Island since 1979

Fish Christmas Island | You’ll hear it in our voices when we tell you about chasing monster GT’s, or recount stories of fooling super-wary tailing Triggers…we love Christmas Island! Why not take advantage of our passion, knowledge, and deep experience, to help you plan your next trip. Of course, OUR SERVICES ARE ALWAYS FREE TO YOU. Like we’ve said all along, FISH CHRISTMAS ISLAND RATES ARE ALWAYS THE SAME AS YOU WOULD PAY WHEN BOOKING DIRECT WITH OUR LODGE PARTNERS.

GREAT PEOPLE GREAT FISHING
Life is too short

Our goal is to take the hassle and uncertainty out of your Christmas Island adventure so you can focus on what’s important; great fishing and great friends. All of our Kiribati-specific, pre-trip materials are loaded with killer inside information; species, gear, travel, packing lists, fly recommendations, and lots more. We are on the saltwater flats most days and have learned through experience, and a ton of visits to Christmas Island, what works. We are pretty sure that you have never seen materials as detailed and useful as what Fish Christmas Island provides for every trip that we book! Oh yeah, did we mention that we are available to chat or answer questions about your upcoming trip based on nearly 40 years of actual Christmas Island experience!

CHRISTMAS ISLAND TEAM
Decades of Experience

Let our nearly 40 years of hands-on Christmas Island Experience work for you! We are a destination angling company run by a super-experienced team of saltwater fanatics who know Christmas Island like no other. We are laser focused on arranging and providing the best possible fishing and travel experiences across the Pacific. Ultra-obsessed with great customer service from your first call with Fish Christmas Island, all the way through the very end of your trip.

NON-FISHING ISLAND ACTIVITIES
HAVE IT ALL TO YOURSELF

Not into fishing, no worries, there is plenty to do for a non-angling guest at Christmas Island. If you are a birder the atoll is home to over 1,000,000 seabirds that will add new sightings to almost anyones life list. The snorkeling is absolutely fantastic with numerous calm, shallow reef areas to explore. You can expect to see colorful reef fish, shells and corals by the millions. You can swim with dolphins, giant manta rays, or even whale sharks (all super friendly).  Bring along your snorkeling gear and take a cool swim during the fishing day, the guides and boatmen are always willing to find you a great spot. For experienced, certified divers, Christmas Island offers some of the most stunning reef ecosystems and clear water anywhere. Kiribati is also a seldom-visited surf destination. Southern energy pumps through the central Pacific from April through October and Northern long-period swells reach the atoll from November through March. The surf spots in Kiribati remind us of Oahu’s South Shore…only difference is that you are the only one out! Check with us in advance to arrange guided surf and dive days.

HOSTED PHOTGRAPHY EXPEDITIONS
WITH WILLIAM THOMPSON
Travel deeper and photograph better when you join one of our immersive small group trips. We’ve teamed up with William Thompson Phd., one of the finest photo journalists on the planet, to launch a series of expeditions that enables you to experience scenic Kiribati while honing your photography skills. With each trip, you can expect local guides to provide an insider’s perspective of Christmas Island, photography workshops, and on-location mentoring by William Thompson. You may be familiar with William’s work as he was an award winning photographer with the National Geographic for eleven years. He has also produced highly acclaimed commercial film and photos including artful western imagery for Marlboro, Wells Fargo, and numerous others.
First Time Saltwater Fly Fishing
Lots of Fish, Easy Wading

We are often asked how the fishing at Christmas Island is for first-time saltwater anglers. We can safely say that EVERYONE at the Lodge catches Bonefish everyday, even first time anglers. During your week you will have hundreds, if not thousands, of opportunities at aggressive Bonefish. Careful wading and 20-30 foot casts will keep you in hungry fish all day. All the Lodge guides are adept at positioning anglers to make sighting and casting to hungry Bonefish a breeze. Easy wading, clear water, white sand flats, LOTS of hungry Bonefish…how could you go wrong?
