Not into fishing, no worries, there is plenty to do for a non-angling guest at Christmas Island. If you are a birder the atoll is home to over 1,000,000 seabirds that will add new sightings to almost anyones life list. The snorkeling is absolutely fantastic with numerous calm, shallow reef areas to explore. You can expect to see colorful reef fish, shells and corals by the millions. You can swim with dolphins, giant manta rays, or even whale sharks (all super friendly). Bring along your snorkeling gear and take a cool swim during the fishing day, the guides and boatmen are always willing to find you a great spot. For experienced, certified divers, Christmas Island offers some of the most stunning reef ecosystems and clear water anywhere. Kiribati is also a seldom-visited surf destination. Southern energy pumps through the central Pacific from April through October and Northern long-period swells reach the atoll from November through March. The surf spots in Kiribati remind us of Oahu’s South Shore…only difference is that you are the only one out! Check with us in advance to arrange guided surf and dive days.
