FIJI AIRWAYS CHARTER
CXI: GETTING THERE

Christmas Island Travel | Fiji Airways provides once-a-week jet service from Honolulu, Hawaii (HNL) to Cassidy International Airport (CXI) on Christmas Island. The 3 hour Boeing 737-700 flight departs every Tuesday around 12:00 noon, so plan to spend the night in Honolulu the Monday prior to your Christmas Island departure. Your return flight from CXI typically arrives in HNL at approximately 10:30 AM HST, giving you lots of time to make your same-day connection home. We recommend you schedule outbound flights from HNL sometime after 1:00PM to allow for delays, US Customs, etc.

JUST ONE ROAD
GETTING AROUND CHRISTMAS ISLAND

After passing through customs at Cassidy International you will be met by Lodge Staff and transferred via truck/van to your accommodations. The ride takes a few minutes and follows the only paved road on the Atoll. There is never a shortage of smiling locals waving to you as the van passes by. After a bit you arrive at the Lodge can unpack, rig rods, and enjoy a cool refreshing drink overlooking the vast Lagoon. We love Christmas Island travel, its like going back 100 year in time.

Don't Worry Be Happy
ISLAND STYLE

Just remember you are visiting a remote island nation and occasionally, there may be delays or small challenges that slow the program down. Kiribati does not enjoy the modernization we are accustomed to in the US however, the Lodge Guides and Staff get an “A” for effort. If something unexpected happens, don’t sweat it, relax and have a cool drink, things are generally worked out short order.

DOCUMENTS PLEASE
NO SWEAT

CXI  travel is super easy, no VISA needed! U.S. citizens are required to have a valid passport with an expiration date at least six (6) months after the completion of your trip. Please be sure that your passport is in good shape and has at least a couple of blank, unstamped pages remaining.  It also never hurts to carry a copy of the front pages of your passport in a separate, safe place. Make sure to bring cash (Kiribati love US Dollars) as credit cards are seldom accepted on the Island.
